International Advisory Board

The International Advisory Board is composed of professionals from around the world who meet twice a year to review code revisions. The board works closely with Columbia University, School of Nursing which is the custodian of the CCCS.  Please find additional information about the board below. IAB Charter

Mission: To advance the interoperability of nursing data.

Vision: Provide electronic health record, health IT software developers, clinicians, and CCC terminology implementers with accurate, reliable, consistent, and definitive guidance about the CCC standard and the coding system.

Objectives:

  • Promote the innovative use of the CCC System in healthcare applications in the United States and internationally.
  • Recommend new CCC terminology concepts to support use of the CCC.

Board Role and Responsibilities:

  • Promote the innovative use of the CCC System in healthcare applications in the United States and internationally.
  • Provide accurate, reliable, consistent, and definitive guidance about the CCC standard and the coding system.
  • Review for action and NAB strategies the CCC website stats: number of visitors, number of site views, number of registrations and associated registration information: location of registration and purpose of use: Student, Organizational, Research, and others.
  • Respond to comments and/or questions (see contact form below)
  • Recommend new CCC terminology concepts.
  • Manage the CCC terminology renewal with the UMLS, National Library of Medicine.
  • Prioritize and make recommendations related to CCC website content.
  • Monitor social media comments on CCC.
