Applications Open: Virginia K Saba Nursing Student Scholarship for the IMIA Nursing Informatics Conference 2024

Applications are being accepted for two monetary scholarships to be used to defer costs of attending the Nursing Informatics 2024 Conference, Manchester, UK July 28-31, 2024. Scholarships are funded in the memory of Virginia K Saba, Ed D, RN, FACMI, FAAN.

The awards will be announced May 15, 2024.

Dr. Virginia Saba was an ardent supporter of nursing and nursing education She helped many nurses navigate the male-dominated field of medical informatics while advancing and contributing to the field of nursing informatics. She served on nonprofit boards, mentored young nursing professionals, and traveled all over the world presenting at informatics conferences.

History

Funds have been collected since her death in 2021 to provide two scholarships to be awarded to nursing informatics students ($1580 each) to attend the 2024 International Nursing Informatics Conference in Manchester, England, July 28-31, 2024.

Requirements & Submission

  • Application (including letter of recommendation) must be received by April 15, 2024.
  • The applicant must be a student in good standing at an ACEN or CCNE accredited undergraduate, graduate or certificate nursing program in the US at the time of the application submission.
  • Applicants must submit a completed Scholarship Application (remember to save a copy locally).
  • Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a nursing colleague, instructor, or professor indicating the student is well suited for the scholarship’s intent and purpose.
  • Letters of recommendation can be emailed to: SabaScholar2024 [at] gmail.com
  • Applications received after April 15, 2024 will not be considered.
  • Scholarship Award notification via email on May 15, 2024.
